Architectural mappings are art installations that transform architectural surfaces into dynamic canvases. They use the structure of buildings as a support for monumental visual spectacles, creating optical illusions and captivating narratives.
Architectural mappings are art installations that transform architectural surfaces into dynamic canvases. They use the structure of buildings as a support for monumental visual spectacles, creating optical illusions and captivating narratives.
Our mappings are conceived as an ode to the uniqueness and richness of a place. Using meticulously coordinated video projections, they bring architectural structures to life, enveloping them in impressive animations, patterns and visual effects. These shows use the details of a building to create striking optical illusions, distorting reality and transporting the audience into imaginary worlds.
Prerequisites for successful mapping
Prerequisites for successful mapping
This technology transcends the limits of creativity, adapting to a multitude of surfaces, from historic buildings to imposing skyscrapers, from interiors to vast outdoor expanses. It deploys its art on monumental canvases, transforming every surface into a living, immersive scene.
From the richly ornate facades of medieval castles to the majestic contours of mountains, from centuries-old trees to the icy waters of a lake, from steep rocks to sand quarries, no surface escapes our creativity. It’s a visual symphony that awakens the senses and takes the audience on an unparalleled sensory journey.
With Lumen’s boundless imagination, the world becomes a blank canvas where each projection is an ephemeral work of art, illuminating urban and natural spaces with its fairytale light.
Video mapping is extremely flexible and can be projected onto a wide variety of surfaces. Ideally, large, flat surfaces such as building facades, interior walls, domes or even natural surfaces like trees or mountains are perfect. However, thanks to technological advances, we can adapt our projections to almost any surface, even those that are not completely flat or uniform. The only limitation would be an extremely irregular or moving surface, which can alter the quality of the projection.
Absolutely. One of our priorities is to respect the environment in which we work. We use energy-efficient equipment and take care to minimize the ecological impact of our facilities. For outdoor projections, we use techniques that do not alter the natural environment and avoid excessive noise pollution. Our screenings can even be used to raise public awareness of environmental issues through educational and inspirational content.
The preparation time for a video mapping project varies according to the complexity of the project and the projection surface. For a simple projection on an interior wall, a few days may suffice. However, for more complex projects involving outdoor surfaces, historic buildings or natural spaces, preparation can take several weeks. This includes the creation of visual content, projection tests, and technical adaptation to the environment. Our team works closely with customers to ensure optimal preparation and stunning results.
Entrust us with your video mapping projects, and discover our visual performances in unexpected places and in the heart of nature. This constantly evolving artistic technique offers infinite possibilities for transforming spaces and creating immersive experiences for the public.
