Organissima & Lux to Notre Dame

As part of the International Organ Festival of Lausanne, Lumen Créations was commissioned to design and deliver the lighting concept for Organissima & Lux at Notre-Dame, a unique immersive experience set within the Lausanne Cathedral.

Conceived as a dialogue between heritage, music, and contemporary lighting technologies, this creation accompanies the performances of the cathedral’s monumental organ, played by Jean-Christophe Geiser. Lasers, architectural projections, and sculptural light effects shape the interior space, revealing the building’s volumes, textures, and verticality, while fully respecting the spirit and solemnity of this historic site.

Through an evolving scenography, light becomes an instrument in its own right, resonating with a musical repertoire spanning from the 18th to the 20th century. Each visual sequence is carefully crafted to extend the emotional impact of the music, immersing the audience and offering a contemporary interpretation of this iconic monument.

This project also forms part of a powerful symbolic moment: the closing chapter of the 750th anniversary celebrations of Lausanne Cathedral. With Organissima & Lux, Lumen Créations delivers a sensitive yet spectacular intervention, where light enhances heritage and transforms the concert into a truly immersive sensory experience.
